چکیده

The characterization of petrified wood provides valuable information about paleoclimatology and geological history helps to reconstruct the past forest flora different parts earth. present study was undertaken evaluate anatomical characteristics fossil Miocene age collected from Manchar Formation exposed at Thano Bula Khan, Sindh, Pakistan. In order carry out a detailed investigation, three-dimensional sections were prepared using petrotome. microscopic analysis allowed us vessel size arrangement, parenchyma, fibers, xylem rays. Based on comparison between recent wood, we concluded that investigated characters are comparable with those genus Atalantia Corrêa Rutaceae family. Therefore, it named as Atalantioxylon thanobolensis sp. nov. reference location Khan which collected.
